Madelyn,
In regards to Mr. Anderson's response to the residents expressing concerns about the county purchasing the golf course. People are legitimately anxious about the county's involvement in our community and daily lives. Please Mr. Anderson don't minimize our concerns by claiming they are "underhanded attacks and propaganda meant to discourage everyone." Your response sounded antagonistic and dismissive. Please allow people the respect of an open discussion. Madelyn is correct. Residents come to her blog as well as Facebook to voice their concerns because the environment during board meetings isn't conducive to thinking outside the box. I respectfully ask that you listen to those who have an honest opinion.
Mr. Anderson, you say you are open to "alternative ideas" but also say, "As I stated before, I am open to any reasonable idea that will keep it a golf course." What this translates to me is that you are open to any ideas as long as you approve of them. Perhaps you misspoke?
Mr. Anderson, you say "nothing is free." However, I don't believe the residents living around the steel mill are being taxed to financially assist in the reopening. And I don't believe that the residents that live around all those parks and recreation centers you mention in your response are subjected to county taxes. Perhaps you meant, "nothing is fair"?
Thank you for hearing me out.
