Well, will you carry a tape recorder into the canal lot owners meeting tonight? There should be "no secrets" in Wedgefield, brought to you by a committee, and the board. The fact that every member has not been included, makes a recorder, very important. Why? You don't condone secrecy do you? Most important, every other meeting whether regular monthly board meeting, or open board meeting is recorded, why shouldn't this one? Additionally, up until several months ago, ALL recordings of meetings - open, or regular monthly meeting, have been posted - for years, on the WPA website. That hasn't been the case for several months. Why? One is left to speculate, and I'm willing to, based on my own studied history of this particular board. In fact, I'm confident of my opinion.
HERE IT IS:
First here is my general life and business principle: when you are confident that you are acting openly, honestly, and legally, in the best interest of any situation, you have no problem with all concerned observing, making a record of what you said, and did, and sharing it with the world.
That is not how this board operates! History shows their bad verbal behavior from the board table is outrageous, has bitten them in the butt, to the point that one board member with close ties to some on this very board tried to get the paid office staff person to erase a portion of the official tape of the meeting (confirmed at the board table, at a later to meeting). Then some members of this board bought into sanitizing the minutes. Up until that point the entire tape of a board meeting was transcribed, no matter how many pages it took to keep all verbage from the board table in the minutes. Now, your board fails to post the recordings of the meetings. I believe that is because they don't want the vast majority to ever hear what they actually have to say from the board table. Thankfully, we have a resident that I won't drag into this opinion (not a canal lot owner), who attends every meeting, or sends someone with a tape recorder in his absence, and posts the recordings on his website for you. It should be noted that each and every time he records a meeting, he has the INTEGRITY to sit in the front row, and hold that recorder right out in the open, and no one doubts what he is about.
Will you have that kind of integrity this evening, and notify me, or that well known website operator that you are willing to share what the board and committee won't?
