I agree, Mr. Anderson came up with an ingenious idea (as he reported in the August 15th board meeting) about putting the speed bump vote to the November ballot and you are a kind and generous woman to give him this credit. Problem here, is he got the idea from one of your blog visitors, (letter dated July 31). So if it weren't for your blog, would Mr. Anderson be able to give the perception that he's actually doing his job or is able to come up with an original thought?
Let the readers decide.
HERE IS THE RESIDENT EMAIL:
Read your latest postings. My jaw dropped when I read that Adam Anderson did "an informal survey on FB regarding speed bumps, and whether residents wanted them." Out of those who responded, (his Facebook buddies), two-thirds opposed. I want everyone reading this blog to re-read what Madeline wrote and after you stop laughing, think about it. We have a board member who was entrusted with getting information about speed bumps and he took to FB to survey those on his friends list. I bet if he had a child dragged by a car, two-thirds of his buddies would've been in favor. How about the board surveying the entire community on the election ballot forms? When will the nonsense ever end?
This isn't the first time Mr. Anderson was too lazy to problem solve. Here is another example. This was posted by one or your readers on your blog in May.
HERE IS THE RESIDENT LETTER: (as always - resident name removed) The Wedgefield Examiner comments below in red.
Go through the board meeting minutes on the HOA website month from month and you will be enlightened. Hardly anything really gets accomplished. It's all hot air. For example, last fall, Adam Anderson brought up the fact that the stop signs needed replacing...... 6-7 months later as of the April meeting this is still an unresolved issue. Adam finally put out for bids and only got one response with a quote of $11,000. So does this mean we will have rotting and rusting stop signs because of one dimensional thinking? Or should the residents just be charged $11,000 because it's easier than actual problem solving? Stayed tuned for the next episode of the May board meeting to see if Adam has anymore thoughts about this stop sign issue. (Hint... hint, shop around for cost effective weather resistant materials and hire a non-relative to do the repairs).
Here is Mr. Anderson's report on the sign issue in the July Wragg:
....and 8 months later in the July Wragg, Adam reports, "We are still trying to come up with an alternative for the sign replacement project after the bids were so high. We are looking at buying pre-made signs and having a local contractor install them."
I asked someone who attended the August board meeting what the update was on the stop signs and apparently Mr. Anderson has put a on hold on it for whatever reason. Perhaps Madelyn's blog readers need to work harder to solve this problem for Adam.
So let's ask ourselves, is Adam Anderson an effective board member? Or is it possible the board is hoarding our assessment money that would go to projects like speed bumps and stop signs to pay for the canal dredging? Or a wee little of both? Lots to think about.
