QUICK HIGHLIGHTS OF THE JUNE 16 WPA BOARD MEETING, AND THE WEDGEFIELD EXAMINER APOLOGIZES TO BOARD MEMBER GARRISON

The Wedgefield Examiner attended the June 16 WPA Board Meeting.  This is going to be quick, as the meeting ran about 2 hours.  Eight board members were present.  Johnson was absent.  There were seven residents present, as the meeting started. Three residents left half way through the meeting.  A complete highlight article will be published by end of day on the 18th (Thursday).

*The vote for speed bumps failed 4-4.

*$30,000 will be transferred from Operating to Reserves.

*The board will begin to place liens on properties, where 2015 assessments have not been paid.

*There will be 3 board seat openings for a vote at the annual meeting (normal).  Applications to run for board are available at the office.  If you are interested, you must use this form.  The deadline to submit is August 17th.

*If you have a By-Law change that you would like to be considered, the deadline date is August 3rd.

* There was a second reading on several policy manual changes.  Many of them passed tonight.

*A few of the second readings for the policy manual were held for revision.  ONE BOARD MEMBER WAS OFFENDED BY THIS AND SAID SO.  The Wedgefield Examiner, will not name that board member this evening.  His actions and stated opinions, can be called nothing short of DRAMA, and deserves to be titled, "(Board members name) PITY PARTY".

* Roads Chair, Anderson's report was excellent.  More to follow.

THE WEDGEFIELD EXAMINER, AND I, AS IN MYSELF AS A RESIDENT, APOLOGIZE TO BOARD MEMBER GARRISON.  TONIGHT, HE WALKED THE TALK, IN HIS VOTE REGARDING THE SPEED BUMPS!  THANK YOU, BOB GARRISON, FOR YOUR VOTE ON THE SPEED BUMP MOTION.  I APOLOGIZE FOR DOUBTING YOUR WORDS ON THE SUBJECT, STATED DURING THE MAY MEETING, IN AN ARTICLE PUBLISHED ON THE WEDGEFIELD EXAMINER.  For those of you who don't recall, during the May meeting, regarding speed bumps, Garrison, said the equivalent of , he didn't think that the general law abiding (speed) resident, should be penalized with speed bumps, because of the offenders.  I wrote that I was use to Garrison saying the right thing, and then voting up the road, contrary to what he had said.  I apologize in this instance.  His record, in general, is what I previously stated.

This is just the beginning.  More articles to follow.
