Adam,
Let me be clear.... I was not suggesting that Wedgefield purchase the course and restore it... by no means whatsoever and I don't think it was suggested in the very least by the other resident who wrote in. I believe the other resident recommended "green space" and my suggestion was a "private park." I was talking about the purchase as an "investment" in our housing values and also as land that can be used by the residents for recreational activities such as jogging, biking, etc. A community surrounded by a "private park." I really don't understand where your response came from, except that you are using this forum to push forward your agenda for the county purchase of the golf course.
I am bothered by the fact that the board is not looking into ALL options and seem to be fixated on what they believe should happen to the course. Wasting our money, handing the problem so someone else, and taking a gamble on our future. It's laziness and close mindedness and they are certainly not serving this community to the best of their ability.
Residents who are following this blog and scratching your head..... it's time for changes to the board. These "volunteers" as they call themselves can go do unpaid community work elsewhere if they feel so inclined to be giving. We need members who are able to think outside the box, don't operate on "rumors," and don't cave to the good ol' boy mentality that drives this community government. The board needs to stop reliving the failures of the past and move Wedgefield into the future before they drive it into the ground.
Residents... voice you opinions, come to the board meetings, vote in some new members with innovative and progressive ideas that will enhance your quality of life.
