THE WPA BOARD ANNOUNCES ANOTHER "OPEN MEETING", WHY?

In case you haven't noticed, your board has announced another "open meeting" to be held April 9th at 7:00 PM.  Why?  Why can't they conduct their business at our regular monthly meetings? Is there an emergency, or just one of them trying to push through their next pet project?  We don't know.  I believe they at least told us why the March open meeting had been called. Shouldn't we know so we can decide whether we should attend or not?

ARTICLE VII, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, Section 7, Special Meetings:  "Special meetings of the Directors may be called by the President or must be called by the Secretary at the written request of one-third (1/3) of the Directors.  Not less than three days notice of the meeting shall be given personally or by mail, telephone, or telegraph which said notice shall state the time, place and purpose of the meeting, provided, however, that notice requirement may be waived if signed in writing by two thirds (2/3) of all board members holding office at that time.

Does this board follow our by-laws, when they call these meetings? They call them quite often.  Ask if you can see the documentation, required by our by-laws.  At least ask them what is so urgent that they don't announce the agenda for the meeting, and ask them to tell you why they couldn't wait less than a week to meet and discuss the items, at our monthly board meeting?
