RESIDENT SHARES 3 LETTERS TO THE BOARD AND RECEIVES A PARTIAL ANSWER

The Wedgefield Examiner has been provided 3 letters to the board.  As always, the name of the resident has been removed from the documents to protect resident confidentiality.  COMMENTS FOLLOW AND ARE THOSE OF THE WEDGEFIELD EXAMINER, AND NOT THE RESIDENT WRITER.

LETTER ONE

LETTER TWO
THIRD LETTER WITH PARTIAL ANSWER FROM THE WPA COMMUNITY LIAISON

THE WEDGEFIELD EXAMINER'S COMMENTS
First, the Community Liaison should be complimented for answering, even partially, the resident.  The resident is questioning priority in expending funds to repair of our roads.  Duck Pond was repaired in our fiasco road repair a few years ago.  At that time, the board in general over rode the questions by McBride to bring in engineering consultants, and moved forward with a contract that lacked a total amount and provided a huge advance payment to a contractor who had not shown up in months, to complete previous work.  Our Legal Chair, Garrison, was one of those on the board that voted in behalf of the vendor, and let it all move forward.  The contractor was reported to regulatory agencies and sanctioned by the state.

This board obviously failed to prioritize - roads traveled by all first, in the ongoing storm clean up.  They allowed, without supervision of task, our Treasurer to put himself first.  Our most traveled roads aren't completed yet.  22 days and counting.  This board will decide on priority of road repair now, and you think we can trust them?

As to the financials, they have changed constantly, at the apparent whim of our Treasurer.  It could appear as though he provides reports that cause a monthly hide and seek game to be played on paper.  What do I mean?  During the February meeting, your Treasurer reported that the "BUDGETED"  column on the report reflected, depending on the line item, monthly, quarterly, or yearly budgeted figures.  There aren't any notations to advise you as to which figure reflected is monthly, quarterly, or yearly.  One could assume that the intent is to keep you in the dark.

To the writer regarding a end of year compliance report.  Don't anticipate one coming our way soon.  The question might be, "where did the Compliance Committee job description come from, who wrote it, and who approved it?  It appears to be a self serving description for our Treasurer, and provides no real look at compliance.

Will the Compliance Chair, or our President, ever answer the question as to how our President was able to violate the "Conflict of Interest" he signed, and he and 7 other board members violated, when he bid and accepted a contract to fix the gate house?  If you think back to the road situation mentioned earlier, it could be a resident will have to write the regulatory agency that sanctioned the road contractor, to force President Walton and 7 members of this board, to acknowledge their huge, unethical vote.
