HERE IS THE WOW PRESIDENT'S LETTER, NAME INCLUDED AS REQUESTED:
Madeline,
I have heard so much about your blog (nothing good and a waste of time) and today decided to take a look at it since you personally attacked WOW and the Boat club. Being the president of WOW I feel I need to send you a response. Our clubs do NOT get together to eat and drink as you say. If you don't believe that why don't you try to join us? We donate to charities, take tours and yes, when we do have meetings on summer holidays we cook out as friends. That is what kind neighbors do. There are great people in this neighborhood if you would just open your heart and throw away your bitterness. If you want to post on your blog about our clubs then you need to speak the truth. What you took off of the Wragg were lies. We list every monthly activity and nowhere did I read that we meet just to eat and drink. We have a Christmas party and I have a brunch in September to start off our year to collect dues.
How do you have the right to speak for this plantation? This is a wonderful place to live and if you don't like it just move. Your are damaging the name and credibility of this great area. If people believe your crap then who is going to want to move here? This is the best place to live in Georgetown.
I never read your blog until now because I knew it would make me mad. But I have to protect the name of my friends and Wedgefield.
Oh, feel free to post this AND you can use my name.
Linda Meltzer
BRIEF NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
The posting titled "The Rag" was written and submitted by a Wedgefield resident, and was their totally unedited, view on the last publication of The Wragg. The resident who wrote "The Rag" has a right to air their thoughts and concerns about what is happening in Wedgefield, just as the resident who replied today.
I personally have never commented on WOW, or The Wedgefield Boat Club. I haven't been a member of WOW for 4 or 5 years. When I was a member, I wrote the WOW newsletter for several years, and served on the board. I left because of family commitments, and for other reasons that have been left unsaid any where.
