WOW PRESIDENT WRITES THE BLOG FOR A SECOND TIME

Do you have information, or an opinion - agree, or not, you can email The Wedgefield Examiner at wedgefieldexaminerthe@yahoo.com.  We'll remove your name to protect the innocent, and publish it.  P.S.  If you would like your name published, please note that on your email, otherwise we leave your name out.

HERE IS THE UNEDITED (AS ALWAYS) LETTER:

Madeline,

In your response to Lu's post, you are grasping at straws. There is no wrath from the board. What exactly have they done for you or anyone else to make that statement?  They may not be perfect, they are only human; however, they are working diligently to keep this community in the best shape as possible, despite your negativity. The situation with the golf course is not in their hands. That is private property and being handled by its present owner.  Residents have actually donated money to keep the golf course mowed.  Most people here come together as a community.

I know many residents out here and they are quite satisfied with the leadership that we have. Your blog trashed the board in regards to the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent under miscellaneous funding and the building of the office behind our backs with no bids.  That was the PAST board from YEARS ago who have been voted out. This board is open and honest, they hold open meetings every month with full monetary disclosures.... Plus we have a substantial amount of money in our reserve account which we never had before.

I will be here about 20 years and hopefully will be here another 20. Your blog is open but the person/persons who are trashing this plantation should have enough gumption to list their names to prove their legitimacy. Otherwise, it seems that it is just coming from you and it's just meaningless words sent out to rile the residents, and for what purpose??  Easy to sit at a computer and complain. Not easy to step up and improve. It is impossible for me to believe that there are many disgruntled people out here. Again if you don't like it here, then move. These posts do no good for our plantation. If they are real, then you are helping to divide our community instead of improving it. I love it here and I will defend it. I believe the thoughts on this blog do not represent the majority of Wedgefield.

This is an open blog. I'm calling out for more residents to post good thoughts concerning our plantation. It does no good for us to have someone come to this site and see nothing but criticism. People will decide not to move here. Unfortunately, they will miss out on a great community.

This will be my last post. I am not wasting anymore time on this "stuff".

Thank you for posting my thoughts.

EDITOR'S BRIEF RESPONSE:
The Wedgefield Examiner's print policy remains the same.  I fail to understand why there is any question as to which letter I responded to last night.  I used quotes from the WOW President's letter.  I'm pleased that a call has been put out to have residents  send good thoughts to the blog.  I'll be happy to publish them, as always - unedited.  I'll ignore implications in this letter that some letters to the blog "aren't" from other residents.

Finally, I fail to see the excitement caused by another resident's simple opinion regarding the clubs - "or perhaps you want to join The Boat Club or the Women of Wedgefield to gorge on food and guzzle libations."  The real resident writer is welcome to an opinion.  Go back and read the paragraph and the resident has backed up every comment with references and quotes from WPA documents and website.  The clubs appear more concerned about "their easily hurt feelings", than all of the writer's concerns about what is actually happening in Wedgefield.  Notice the quick "gun" of the clubs in wonderful Wedgefield, is offense, and their defense of "move - get out of here".  Yet, these same groups have leaders and a board member that does this to Wedgefield, and a resident, and they not only don't call foul, they are upset when people call them on it.

It should be noted that the visitor to Wedgefield for a party, who first wrote the Georgetown Times about this club member and board member display, offered to provide a picture of it.  The Georgetown Times would not publish it saying it would bring a  curiosity line of traffic  to the HOA.

THIS SIGN WAS PUT UP BY THE SAME CLUB MEMBER/BOARD MEMBER FOR DAYS WITH SEVERAL HOUSES FOR SALE, AND PROSPECTIVE BUYERS PASSING IT.  WONDERFUL WEDGEFIELD?
THE SAME CLUB/BOARD MEMBER, PUT A HUGE SIGN OUT BY THE OFFICE THAT SAID "SHOW SANTA YOUR JUGS", AND TWO OFFENDED WOMEN FROM THE CLUBS WENT AND CROSSED IT OUT, AND ENTERED A NEW WORD.  THOSE CLUB MEMBERS NAMES WERE NEVER PUT ON THE INTERNET, AND TOLD TO MOVE.
