A WEDGEFIELD RESIDENT ADVISES US TO BE AWARE!

A Wedgefield resident sent this through my private email.  I thought it was important enough to share, and have removed the resident name for their privacy.  The email alert follows:

From: NAME REMOVED Sent: Monday, December 05, 2016 6:43 AM To: NAME REMOVED Subject: Thieves Neighbors/Friends: Just trying to give you all a heads up. We were  away late Saturday afternoon till 11pm. A neighbor, called me yesterday, said around 5 Sat. a black guy came to the door said he was selling house cleaners to all the neighbors, neighbor said no, closed the door, the guy went out and peed in the middle of the street. Neighbor called the sheriff’s office, they tracked him down, told him to leave Wedgefield. Sheriff came back later, found 2 more black guys in a black van parked in front of the office area, they escorted them out to 701. There’s a scam going on, where one guy knocks on the door, no one home , he drops a rag or something in the street, the other 2 guys Come and rob the house. The neighbor across the street said, he lived in Belle Island and they did the same thing last year. This is a scam, be careful.!! I met with Janine Cline yesterday, said she heard the same thing from others, going to put an article in the next Wragg. When I went to the sheriff’s office with  another problem, he said the WPA needs cameras in front and back of the gate house and the circle. I have said the same for the last 20 years. Check your security cameras for Sat. afternoon and night.?
