THE GOLF COURSE SALE DIDN'T CLOSE YESTERDAY. THERE IS HOPE, AND WE ALL NEED TO THINK POSITIVE, THAT IT WILL CLOSE NEXT THURSDAY. BUSINESS NEGOTIATIONS TAKE TIME.

Do you have information, or an opinion - agree, or not, you can email The Wedgefield Examiner at wedgefieldexaminerthe@yahoo.com.  We'll remove your name to protect the innocent, and publish it.  P.S.  If you would like your name published, please note that on your email, otherwise we leave your name out.

We may think we have a time bomb here in Wedgefield regarding the sale of the golf course, but as residents, WE don't.  We have no real seat at the closing of the sale table.  We are hoping for the best, because we want the golf course sold, restored, and operating.  We've had rumors of the sale falling through, then that the closing would take place yesterday, word that it hadn't closed, and now that it will close next Thursday because the buyer, who is an investor is negotiating a lease with a golf course operator.

With no seat at the closing table, we have to let business take its course, and wait for word.  While we are waiting, we need to be grateful for a few things.  First, our Wedgefield Community Support Group have made the long wait from the golf course closure over a year ago, more palatable.  They have met the challenge of making the course look better, in benefit of all our homes.  Butch Williams, and his group's efforts have been dedicated, and amazing.  They have followed the ups and downs of the sale, and just focused on their work, and keeping an eye on the prize - sale, and made offers to help with upkeep to help any potential buyer.  We have another group of residents who have lessened the expense of the golf course mowings, by actually taking responsibility for the golf holes behind their homes, and coordinated their efforts through Butch, so as not to duplicate efforts.  We also have a realtor, Mr. Roberts, who has sold this course twice before, and has really worked to bring numerous potential buyers here.  He has taken time to take resident calls, and levels with us to the best of his ability, without losing the integrity of his responsibility to get the job done.

We are so fortunate to have all these people helping us.  They've churned the best brew pot, and now we have to be patient, and hope for the best, because we have the best people advocating for us.  Say thank you to them, as you wait.
