THE PARKING LOT OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE AGAIN???????

HOW MANY TIMES IS THE WPA BOARD GOING TO LET MCMILLIN TRY THIS NONSENSE?

WHY THE QUESTIONS?  Readers, once again at the August 2017 WPA board meeting, McMillin brought up the issue of the parking lot arrangement immediately outside the office.  Once again, your board gave him approval to research the cost of refiguring the parking area.  As I listened, I thought isn't this the third time in 4-5 years that McMillin has tried this?  Yes, read the reprint of a posting from 2014 provided below.  The article speaks for itself.  He claims residents have been concerned about safety - lots of residents, yet there is no documentation in the file to indicate that anyone is concerned except him.  Yet, here we are again, and this time his claim becomes personal - he says, that he can't even turn around that big truck of his in that lot without concern for safety, or damage to his vehicle.  I don't want to pay to re-do something that isn't a hazard to anybody but him.  Why would your board even take the time, or consider the expense AGAIN?  Follow the board meetings with a keen eye, and it all comes down to doing one's pet project to keep everyone in line with a much larger secret goal that harms us all, wastes our funds, and ignores any sound governance, financial, or business judgement.

What newer people might not know, is that McMillin came on the board in November of 2008.  The association was in a mess.  The previous board with many on that board having had 6-8 year board seats, secured plans, hired a contractor that couldn't operate under his own license, and notified the membership without a vote at the board table (public), in writing - sent to every member, that they were building an office.  The 2009 board was left with an uncompleted project.  McMillin secured the plans and bids, and oversaw the project - the parking lot.  He made reports of how great the plan, and finished project was under his direction.  What?  He doesn't like what he did?

Inspect the parking lot for yourself.  It isn't aging, breaking down, but he wants something else on our dollar again now, like so many other things, and so many times before.  There is no governor on his wishes at our expense.  No common sense.  Where is the rest of the board?  I've been in and out of the office for years, and there has never been any complaints in writing.  How long will you tolerate this?

Our office is not McMillin's home.  He can do what he wants there.  Don't start writing me about how he plants flowers etc.  I'm in and out of the association with my normal routine, and quite frankly, there is usually one, two, or three cars there during business hours.  It it usually the office paid person, and a board member, or so.  Are we to pay for their convenience?  If they don't like it, park on the side, or behind the building - another of his great works (parking behind the building).  When you go to a board meeting, you know you aren't parking there.  If you are a handicapped resident, an older resident, etc., there is plenty of space for you.  Every place I've ever worked, no matter what my title was, I parked where employees parked, and customers - in our case residents, had priority parking, in our case meeting attendees, are parking outside of that lot.

I have been getting calls, and comments for years, regarding the amount of time McMillin spends at the office.  I've noticed, as all the callers have that he is there after office hours, Friday (office closed) Sat., some Sundays, usually with another board member.  I'm asked what he is up to?  I answer that I don't know, I don't care, and I'm not into speculating.  If he is going to use the office like his home office, and then complain the parking is a problem for his truck, he shouldn't expect us to pay for it.

TUESDAY MAY 13TH: WILL WE GET A REDESIGN ON THE WPA OFFICE PARKING LOT? DURING THE APRIL WPA MEETING MC MILLIN WAS GIVEN THE OK TO CONTINUE HIS RESEARCH DESPITE THE FACT THAT NOT ONE PERSON HAD WRITTEN THE BOARD ASKING FOR A CHANGE. HOW MUCH WILL ONE BOARD MEMBER'S SPOUCE'S VERBAL CLAIM OF REPRESENTING 6 WEIGH INTO THIS? WHAT IS THE MAGIC NUMBER BEFORE ALL OF US HAVE TO PAY? IN THE MEAN TIME, SOME THINGS REMAIN THE SAME THIS MORNING.

DO YOU REALLY THINK POTENTIAL HOME BUYERS HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING THE OFFICE PARKING LOT?  DON'T YOU THINK THAT THEY WOULD TAKE ROAD REPAIR AND LOT MAINTENANCE INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE THEY BUY IN WEDGEFIELD?  WHERE ARE YOUR BOARD'S CONCERNS FOR YOU AND YOUR PROPERTY VALUES?
