WELCOME TO THE PROMISE OF THE REAL ESTATE ADS, AND THE BROKEN PROMISE OF OUR GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, BY THIS BOARD IN THEIR FAILURE TO UPHOLD THEM, AS THEY MANIPULATE THEM, AND FAIL TO EVEN LET THE MEMBERSHIP BE HEARD

Today I went out to take some pictures to provide a tour of what buyers see when they try and call on the picturesque points made in those ads.  Many of us bought at a time when things looked a little brighter, only later to discover the half truths, but at the point of purchase it all looked good.  It use to be that only canal lot owners bought, and later discovered the division put in this community by many boards.  Recently, we hear from those who bought who live on both the golf course, and canals.  Yet, our board vice president/legal chair makes broad statements"There is currently no consideration for the WPA to take over control, operation or purchase of either the golf course or the pool."  Recently it was announced that the water amenities committee would hold a meeting, board invited, at the WPA office, with canal lot owners - ONLY.  In each case, there was no discussion at the board table of either of these moves.  Nine people elected to represent us did it all.  If you have watched our board of nine, in all probability it wasn't even a decision of nine, they each play dumb to the infractions of the others to get their next newest, and greatest, usually unannounced move,
 to the board table.

Back to the pictures and the ads.  A few are older, and I'll note them as such, but they are indications of what your board will ignore.

Let's start with Wedgefield's promise, really the board's promise to each and everyone of us.

How is the board doing?  You'll see!

Nice entrance, but what you don't know is it took years to get it repaired, with two of the current board members competing to see who was in charge.  Went out to bid (not by anybody's business standard), at least 3 times, and at one point after every board member had signed a conflict of interest statement, at the time basically saying that board member's couldn't earn a dollar through the WPA.  They awarded a contract to our WPA president's company.  Not one board member would answer how they could have voted yes to that motion for months.  The only board member who voted "no" was called moronic by our legal chair during discussion for even asking the question.  The interior of the building still isn't complete.  Here's what potential buyers got to see while they haggled over the years.

Interested in the tennis courts, as advertised.  Just look at what awaits you.

I parked near the pool but couldn't get close enough for pictures because there was another truck there loading stuff up this morning.  For your benefit, I did take pictures of what people see if they parked to inquire about the amenities.

If you are interested in the golf course advertised in the ads, your stomach will have dropped to your feet as you drive down the state road portion of Wedgefield Rd.  If you are persistent, "buyer verify for yourself", there is no one there to talk to you about golf, it is closed, and for sale.  Maybe, as I did this morning you'll park, and walk a little of the course.  If you already live here on the golf course, your heart may drop when you look at your view.

Don't stumble in the weeds on the golf path.

If you are a golfer, and could get on the course, don't worry about the sand traps, soon they won't be there any more.

Not a golfer, but would just like the ambiance?  Well here it is.

Fortunate enough to offer, or have a golf course pond view?  The ponds are weeding in, and the surrounding overgrowth will block your view.

Do you think you are fortunate to be one of the properties that is not on either the golf course, or canals?  Think that protects you from those untruthful promises in the ads, and made by that WPA sign that says we have rules?  Broken promises to you too, because we all have to drive by this.  No matter where you live here the promises are broken by this board, and they don't care enough to call a meeting, and ask you what you think can, and should be done.  They've announced their decisions, and they didn't make them at the board table.  Here we go to anywhere, anytime, in Wedgefield.

If you happen to live on my street right down from our ground's chair, or are driving to view 2 of the properties that are listed for over a million dollars each, you might encounter this pile of debris that has been laying here (against those rules printed on that Wedgefield promise sign) with a "for sale" sign parked in it.

Now, let's just drive by anywhere, any time, Wedgefield.  It should be noted that your board, against what is stated in the governing documents, allow these conditions, and really ignore them if they are a lot, or residence of a board member.

Yes, this has been going on for years.  Go back to that sign, and the governing documents, and you'll note that nothing prohibits the garden (Where are the people who like to submit by-law changes?), but you cannot store items, and leave piles of debris on the lot. It has lowered the standard to such a point - honest - that at one point the board reported themselves, that someone wanted to know if they could have pigs!

Back to our pictorial road trip.

The following picture was taken at that landing with access to the Black River.  The story was a whopper, but I've no time for that now.  In the end, your board grounds chair, took some of this crap home, and piled it in his vacant lot, because he stated that another board member wanted to do something with it.

Back to our trip.

If you have lived here as long as I have, you will have had the opportunity to live with the following circumstances.  Yes, there were homes for sale, in fact the million dollar homes were for sale, BUT because the board allows these things at fellow board member homes, and lots, we all got to see it.

The 3  pictures provided above were taken at your board grounds chair's vacant lot.  Read the governing documents.  That big old burning pot still sits there today.  What was really strange is at the very introduction of these items to his lot, and burning, this is what all the rest of us had been told were the rules, as published in the board's newsletter, multiple times.  (page taken from The Wedgefield Examiner - previous article)

In the event your home was for sale during the holiday season two years ago, if you drove down my street to visit, or look at a home for sale, you were greeted by the picture below.  It isn't a holiday decoration, it is a sign, in fact a political sign.  The grounds chair didn't like the reporting in the blog, had a family member create this, and had my house # painted on it.  If you drove by in the evening, he had big spot lights on it.  Go to the governing documents and read the regs about signs.  Many people contacted the board, some people wrote the Georgetown Times editor, and the articles were printed.  One of the people who wrote the Georgetown Times asked if they would like a picture of it, and they reportedly said "no", that it might cause extreme traffic in the association.  In the mean time, I'm was told by a reliable source who spoke to our president about this, that the president said that he didn't know what to do because several of the board had met with the grounds chair for over 3 hours, and he wouldn't take it down.  The usual cover up at the next board meeting was that only one person complained, and that the board viewed it as a holiday greeting.

Let's remember this.  It is the promise at the gate, and your board is failing to keep it on every level.

What can you do?  Submit your resume to run for board.  If we could elect 4 new people, we might get some real honest business done at the board table.  In the least, you should be attending meetings, writing the board about your concerns, and asking for the board to call a meeting for all of us to try and save Wedgefield, because your board doesn't appear to give a damn, or even self discipline their own.
