PART II: THE MAY 21 WPA BOARD MEETING - TWO MORE OFFICER REPORTS

I attended the May 21 board meeting.  I've also gone back and listened to the tape. I have transcribed portions of the meeting, and will denote transcription with quotation marks and will underline those portions.  I will relate what I heard, saw, and transcribed to the best of my ability.  In all cases, if you didn't attend the meeting, you should listen to the tape yourselfComments will be in red.

All nine board members attended the meeting.

THE SECRETARY'S REPORT:

Cline informs us that the 2013 annual meeting will be held on November 16th at the First Presbyterian Church. She further states that corrections to by-laws and policies will be up on the website next week.  Our next event will be the 4th of July golf cart parade.

It is almost three weeks later and the new (?????) 2011 by-law, nor the policy manual, have appeared on the website.  She didn't bother to provide an answer as to why the 2011 by-law change that the membership voted into the by-laws, hasn't been included in the posted by-law document, or why it hasn't been followed by the board while making the many changes they have, to the policy manual.  Just another example, as the one below, as to the integrity of their words.

YES IT IS STILL THERE.  THIS BEAUTY BROUGHT TO YOU BY THIS VERY BOARD THAT PROMISED "IT WOULD NEVER BE IN OUR BACKYARDS - THE CANALS". IF YOU CAN'T TRUST THEIR OWN WORDS, A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.  READ ON FOR THEIR NEW WORDS FROM THE MAY MEETING.

THE TREASURER'S REPORT:
DeMarchi reports that the only thing he has to cover that evening is opening bids for the 2012 audit.  They have sent out 3 bids. He must mean request for proposal.  Two have bids.  He opens the envelopes, states the bid amounts, and makes a motion to hire the lowest bidder at $2,700.
Stay tuned.  Next we'll cover the committee reports.
