"AND THE BEAT GOES ON" YES, RIGHT HERE IN WEDGEFIELD! THE BOARD SHOULD BE BEATING THE DRUMS, AND KEEPING US INFORMED. THE NATIVES ARE GETTING RESTLESS BOARD. A FEW OPINIONS FROM WEDGEFIELD RESIDENTS ON FACEBOOK REGARDING THE GOLF COURSE. NAMES HAVE BEEN REMOVED - AS ALWAYS

It is time to stand up, and let other residents know that you are concerned.  Your comments, agree or not, are welcome, and will be published without your name.  Send your emails to:  wedgefieldexaminerthe@yahoo.com

Residents, you can't wait for, or trust the board to help Wedgefield.  Here are a few residents comments from FB.  The names have been removed, as always.  Someone needs to get the guts to call some resident meetings.

NOTE:  TWO MORE COMMENTS WERE ADDED REGARDING THE COUNTY BUYING THE GOLF COURSE ON APRIL 12:

Sounds like a rerun of the canal fiasco.

They need to have a meeting regarding this. I agree. I moved here because it was private.

I asked a member of the board about the meeting they were setting up for the homeowners. I was told that Bob is waiting to hear from the county. We need to find out if there is enough home owners here that want the county to buy it with the $500.00 tax for the Wedgefield home owners.

Don't understand what you're talking about. $500 tax what the hell are you talking about ?

The board told us at the last meeting that the county would want $500 tax each year from each home owner if the county brought the golf course

I would like to have the meeting to get the grass mowing problem resolved, has we were told at the last board meeting.

Please send any name to this address of anyone who might be interested in becoming a member of the cost is $1000 a year and the county of Georgetown is looking to buy the course but they need assurance that at least 200 people would become members

Why do I have to post my questions on this to find out any info? Why isn't the board letting the community know what is going on? Can't get minutes from the meetings. What is going on"

Exactly! No board help. We are on our own.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble. Just hear all the rumors and no one knows what is going on. We all pay the same assessment whether we live on the golf course, canals or just in the plantation. I would just like to be advised on the present situation.

I'm not certain the board has any more information than any other resident....as the golf course is not owned and operated by Wedgefield Homeowners Association. The HOA dues are for other assessments than the golf course..????

(Name) is correct. Gary Roberts, who has the property listed, may have some information for you.

I believe that board members were planning to meet with the County. I never heard the results of that meeting, if it ever happened. I have spoken with Gary Roberts and he gave me the same information as the first poster on this thread, that they wanted a commitment from people who would like to become golf course members. I offered to help circulate names and addresses but never heard back from Gary.

If you put up the thousand dollars, what do you really get? A share? If the county wants it to be a public course, do you play for free or reduced cost? I am not a golfer and unfamiliar with the way things work for memberships. Just trying to make sense of the 200 people putting up a $1000 yr for membership. If someone could explain this to me, I would appreciate it.

Grass starting to grow. We need to get a held harmless so we can cut grass. Asked about the meeting yesterday, nothing set up yet , waiting for country to respond. We need action now.

The golf course may be closed but we still have a neighborhood to be proud to call home. The lots are large compared to the new construction in Pawleys Island. We are a mixed community with old and young. We have water access for boaters. We have beautifully landscaped homes.
It is especially important now to honor the covenants and maintain our neighborhood with high standards. Everyone needs to work together to keep our Wedgefield a beautiful place to live.
