HERE IS THE RESIDENT LETTER:
Hello Madeline,
I'm responding to the comments posted on the Facebook account about the county's purchase of the golf course.

First of all, this smells of "Mitch."   Is he behind the county's purchase because their plan is pretty much in line with his?  The numbers add up to what he was expecting us to hand over to  him.   Who can clarify?  Who on the board is assisting him in this plan?  If it Mitch, he's persistent and I have to say, coming into our community for your own personal agenda and to stick your hand in our wallets is an issue for me and I'm sure for others as well.  The cards are certainly not stacked in the financial favor of the homeowners.  I believe someone is trying to manipulate homeowners who feel desperate about the golf course situation.   And no one should feel desperate...  this is NOT a dire situation.    I hope this doesn't divide the community even more.

As for the $500 tax the county "may" impose on homeowners.  I'm thinking this is not legal and if it's imposed, I'm sure there is legal recourse.  We didn't sign on for this when we purchased our property and it can't be forced down our throats.

As for 200 members at $1000 a year.  What if by chance the county gets 200 residents to purchase memberships and what if the following year some don't renew and the number is below 200?   Hmmmm.... how will they make up this deficit?   And who would take on this membership without knowing for sure if the golf course will be maintained to professional standards?   Don't golfers typically play a course or at least investigate it thoroughly before plunking down hundreds or thousands of dollars for membership?

The board has NO control over the sale of the golf course.  They are exercising power they don't have.  The only deal they should be involved in is if the HOA purchases the course.  Otherwise, they should stay out before we end up on the short end of the stick.

Neighbors...... make it a date to attend the next Board Meeting and demand the TRUTH.    If you don't like the secrets, condescension, behind the scene deals, and manipulations, VOTE THESE PEOPLE OUT.       Hope to see you all there...
