ANOTHER RESIDENT RESPONDS TO BOARD MEMBER ANDERSON'S NEW LETTER TO THE BLOG REGARDING THE GOLF COURSE

It is time to stand up, and let other residents know that you are concerned.  Your comments, agree or not, are welcome, and will be published without your name.  Send your emails to:  wedgefieldexaminerthe@yahoo.com

PLEASE NOTE:  Board member Anderson's new letter 4-19-17, is presented 2-3 articles below on the blog.

HERE'S THE RESIDENT ANSWER:
Madeline,

This is in response to Adam Anderson's posting on your blog.  First of all Adam, thank you for commenting.   I only wish you spoke up in Tuesday nights board meeting as this conversation may have already progressed.

If you read Madeline's blog further, you will see that alternative choices have been discussed in regards to the golf course, particularly the resident ownership which would add value to our homes.    I believe a group was formed last year where the participants were looking into resident ownership/investment with not a word of support from the board.    I attended at least 2 board meetings last fall when Bob Garrison bellowed, the HOA will not buy the golf course.  That being said, sit down and shut up residents.....

I agree with you Adam, purchasing the course is my personal choice and I would bet more residents than not would agree with you.   Why should we pay Mitch or the county $500 a year for how many years on a gamble of a golf course when this money can be invested in our community?  Would you rather flush $500 down the toilet or invest it?   It may not even cost us $500 a year.   Purchasing the course will increase the values of our homes.   Having a community surrounded by private parks or whatever the residents vote to use it for.... would be appealing to potential buyers and help those trying to sell their homes.   The greens that are mowed and well maintained by some of our good and generous residents are being used by others for walking, jogging, biking, and fishing.   It's a wonderful site to see.

Adam..... if you are up to the task, would you be willing to join a committee and help put together a proposal for purchase?    I know there are bright minds in Wedgefield with experience in law, business, and finance.   We just have to reach out to them.     I understand that the board is meeting with Mr. Wolfe tomorrow.... can lease to own be a topic of conversation?

Finally, I agree with the writer who suggested that purchasing the golf course should be included in the survey.   But my only concern is that the individuals who will be surveying the residents already have an agenda..... they are in the favor of the county purchasing the course and it's possible that one choice will not be represented fairly.    Perhaps the board can come up with a better plan to collect this data?
